Calendar

The calendar combines dated records from multiple features into one planning view. It loads the visible month and lets each user filter the source types available in that view.

What appears

  • Event slots, festivals, festival days, public holidays, vehicle inspections, task deadlines, and scheduling appointments can appear as calendar items.
  • A date-only task deadline fills the day as an all-day item. A deadline with an explicit time is shown as a 30-minute block.
  • Archived events, event slots, festivals, festival days, vehicles, and tasks are skipped. Cancelled scheduling appointments are also skipped.
  • Opening Calendar requires Calendar read access. Source items are included only with the matching read permission: Events for event slots, festivals, and festival days; Vehicles for inspections; Tasks for deadlines; Scheduling for appointments.
  • When read access is conditional, the calendar applies the source resource predicate before showing records, so each source can be narrower than the full Workspace.
  • The Calendar item in the sidebar shows today's calendar item count when Calendar is enabled in the sidebar and the user has Calendar read access. The badge uses the same source permissions and hides when there are no items today.

Public holidays

  • Public holidays are enabled by default. Workspace admins choose the country and can narrow coverage to an exact subdivision in Workspace Settings → Calendar. The country inherits the Workspace country unless it is overridden.
  • Holidays are official, read-only calendar items. They appear after operational items, can be filtered as a source type, and show whether they apply nationwide or to the configured region.
  • The same holidays are marked in Work Schedule and timesheet day rows. An employment holiday region overrides the Workspace subdivision for that member. These markers are informational: they do not change expected hours, recorded hours, or balances.

Working in the calendar

  • Use the calendar item filters to show or hide available source types.
  • Click an item to inspect its type, title, and date or time range, then use Open to navigate to the underlying record. A festival-day marker opens its parent festival when one is linked.
  • Public holidays show their provider and coverage instead of an editable source record. They cannot be dragged or moved.
  • Drag an item to another day to update the date on its source record. The move preserves the original time and duration, including whether a task deadline is all-day or timed; multi-day festivals shift as one range. Normal update permissions and scheduling availability checks still apply.
  • Most item types ask for confirmation before the move. Don't ask again suppresses that prompt for the same item category for your user in the current Workspace; quick events move without a confirmation prompt.
  • If you can create events, double-click a day to create an event from 09:00 to 10:00 on that date.
  • Right-click a day to create an event or task when permitted. Tasks created this way use the selected date as the deadline.
