Festival Days

Festival days represent the programme-day breakdown of a festival. Events can reference a specific day so schedules, staffing, and venue context stay grouped together. When the festival sets a programme-day boundary, the day continues into the next morning until that time.

Festival days do not carry a separate free-text title. In the event form, selecting a festival day auto-fills the parent festival and moves slots from another programme day onto the selected one while preserving their time and duration. New slot starts must remain within that programme day.

Day view

• Use the Festival Days tab on a festival to add and manage days.
• Selecting a date outside the festival's date range shows a non-blocking hint below the date field; the day can still be saved.
• A day with scheduled events cannot be moved to another date until their dated slots have been moved first. Events whose slots are still undated do not block the change.
• The view is organized as horizontal day columns. Each column has controls to add an event for that festival day or edit the day.
• Adding an event from a day column preselects both the festival day and the parent festival. If that festival has a default event type, Einblick selects it too and opens its form directly.
• Event cards use the current event type to resolve title and cover image. They also show status, building postcode and linked groups when available, internal notes, and every slot with its role, time, presenter, and notes.
• Cards with building postcodes are ordered by postcode when compared with each other; other cards use their resolved display title.
• Event cards start compact with their image, title, location, and status. Expand a card—or all visible cards from the toolbar—to see its schedule, notes, groups, and staffing details.
• For types with Volunteers enabled, the expanded card separates whole-event staffing from each staffed slot. Confirmed members fill the required count and show as avatars; requested signups remain visibly pending.
• Users with event update access can manage each duty in place. The member picker warns about overlapping work, and changes save immediately without opening or saving the event form.

Slot-driven changes, including calendar moves, keep the relation consistent: slots on one programme day attach the event to the matching festival day, while an event spanning several programme days has no single festival-day relation.
