Forms
Forms collect structured responses from public visitors, Workspace members, assigned internal users, event reservation flows, and embedded site pages.
Open the feature
- Open Forms from the sidebar.
- If the entry is missing, an admin can enable the Forms feature and sidebar item.
- The list supports table and grid views with status, visibility, type, field count, submission count, last response, and creation time.
Create and publish
- Click New form to create a draft form. New forms start as
unlisted, use the Form type, and get a unique slug from the title. - The form header actions let you publish, copy the public link, and copy iframe embed code.
- Publishing sets the form to
published, records the first published time, clears any closed state, and turns response collection on. - Archiving closes the form, stops response collection, and returns you to the Forms list.
Build fields
- The General tab is the builder. Add fields from the Elements panel, select a field to edit its label, description, placeholder, required flag, and type-specific settings, and reorder fields by dragging or using move controls.
- Supported field types are short text, long text, email, phone, number, single choice, multiple choice, dropdown, date, time, date and time, rating, linear scale, yes/no, consent, file upload, statement, and divider.
- Choice fields store their options on the field. Rating, scale, number, and file-upload fields expose limits such as min/max, maximum file count, and maximum file size.
- File-upload answers are uploaded before submission and stored as Files in the form's Workspace folder.
Sharing and access
- Public form pages use
/f/:formId. The embed action generates an iframe URL with?embed=1. - Visibility controls who can open the form:
public, unlisted, workspace only, orprivate. publicandunlistedforms can be opened by external visitors after publishing.workspace onlyforms and forms with Require Workspace membership require a signed-in Workspace member.privateforms are internal and do not open publicly.- Accept responses can pause new submissions without archiving the form.
- Forms can collect respondent name and email before submission. If those options are enabled, the fields are required on the public page.
- Public submissions are rate-limited per form to 250 submissions per hour with a burst capacity of 50. Public file-upload preparation is limited to 60 requests per minute with a burst capacity of 20.
Settings
- General settings include title, description, slug, linked project, linked event, visibility, and type.
- Response settings control whether responses are accepted, whether name/email are collected, whether a contact is created from each submission, and whether Workspace membership is required.
- Contact creation uses the collected name or email, or the signed-in Workspace member profile for member-only forms. Einblick blocks this setting unless enough identity data is collected.
- Public page settings can show the Workspace mark selected under Workspace Settings → Appearance, matched to the page background. The form can hide the einblick logo in its footer itself, and the Workspace Appearance setting can hide it across public pages.
- After-submit settings let you customize the thank-you title and message.
Submissions and analytics
- The Submissions tab lists recent responses with submitter details, linked contact when one was created, answer values, and file counts.
- Submission source is derived by the server: event reservation forms are
event, Workspace-member forms areworkspace, and other public responses arepublic. - The Analytics tab shows total submissions, answered fields, last response, responses over time, and per-field summaries. Text fields show samples, numeric fields show averages, and choice-style fields show distributions.
Internal assignments
- From Settings, assign a form to a Workspace member and optionally set a due date.
- Assigned users see required forms as dashboard setup alerts. Opening the alert takes them to the public form page for that form.
- When an assigned member submits the form, the assignment is marked submitted and linked to the submission.
- Creating, updating, publishing, archiving, assigning users, and receiving submissions are recorded in Workspace activity. Submission activity opens the form's Submissions tab; other form activity opens the form detail.
Events and sites
- A registration-enabled event can create its own form from the event's Registration form tab. The first question creates a published, unlisted form that belongs to the event and stays out of the main Forms list.
- Event forms use the same question renderer and submission model as other forms. Their questions appear on public signup and invitation RSVP pages; submissions use source
eventand link to the reservation or invitation admission that produced them. - The Site editor includes a Forms block for embedding an existing form in a page. The block stores the selected form ID and renders the same public embed URL.
