Podcasts

Podcasts combines show metadata, episode production, an RSS feed, and distribution links in one Workspace feature.

Create a show

  1. Open Podcasts and create a podcast.
  2. Add its title, author, description, episodic or serial type, category, and slug. Language and cover image complete the readiness checklist; optional fields include a public website, subtitle, summary, copyright, owner details, explicit-content marking, and iTunes visibility settings.
  3. Use the readiness checklist to confirm the core metadata, cover, slug, language, and category.

The show slug becomes part of its RSS feed URL. The detail page provides that URL for copying and links to submit the feed to Apple Podcasts and Spotify. You can save each platform's resulting show URL to track distribution.

Add and publish episodes

  • Add episodes from the show detail page. An episode stores title, show notes, type, optional subtitle, website link, episode and season numbers, artwork, keywords, and explicit-content settings.
  • Upload the audio file in the episode's General tab. Drag-and-drop and the file picker accept audio files, and Einblick records the duration when the browser can detect it.
  • An episode can be published after it has audio, a title, and show notes. Publishing the first episode also activates a draft podcast.
  • The Transcript tab accepts typed text or one file up to 5 MB in DOCX, SRT, TXT, or VTT format. Text-based uploads also populate the editable transcript field.
  • Use Chapter marks for titled start and optional end times. Social previews the episode artwork, title, and subtitle as a share card.

Only published episodes whose publication date has arrived are included in the RSS feed. Publishing a podcast directly requires at least one published episode.

Language variants

The Workspace content language is the source language for translated podcast fields. A podcast can store language variants for Title, Description, Subtitle, and Summary. Episodes can store variants for Title, Show notes, and Subtitle. Switch languages in the field editor to maintain each variant without replacing the source text.

The podcast's separate Language setting describes the show for podcast directories; it does not change the Workspace content language used for editing variants.
